Privacy policy
Last updated September 17, 2026
The short version: we use what you tell us to review your refinance options and to contact you about them. We don’t sell your information, and we never share your mobile number with third parties for their marketing.
Who we are
This site and the Cal Rates text line ((213) 762-6972) are operated by [Legal entity name — to be confirmed] (“Cal Rates,” “we,” “us”). Mortgage advice and loan applications are handled by our licensed brokerage partner, [Brokerage name — to be confirmed].
What we collect
- What you share by text or on a call: your name, phone number, property type and use, ZIP code and street address, estimated property value and mortgage balance, whether there is a second mortgage, estimated credit score, date of birth, military service, bankruptcy history, and anything else you choose to tell us.
- Call records: if you accept a call from our automated assistant, the call is recorded and transcribed so we can capture your answers accurately.
- Message records: the content, time, and delivery status of texts between you and us.
- Site usage: basic technical data such as browser type, pages viewed, and the ad or link that brought you here.
We do not ask for your Social Security number, and we do not pull your credit report.
How we use it
- To review your refinance options and pass your details to a licensed mortgage specialist.
- To reply to your messages and, if you agree, call you.
- To keep records required by law and to prevent fraud or misuse.
- To understand which ads and pages work, in aggregate, so we can improve them.
Who we share it with
- Our licensed brokerage partner, so a mortgage specialist can review your options and follow up.
- Service providers who help us run the service, such as our messaging, voice, and hosting providers. They may use your information only to provide services to us.
- Authorities, when required by law or to protect rights and safety.
We do not sell or rent your personal information. Mobile numbers and text messaging consent are never shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing purposes.
How long we keep it
We keep your information for as long as we need it to review your options and follow up, and as long as the law requires for mortgage-related records. After that we delete or de-identify it.
Your California privacy rights
If you live in California, you can ask us to tell you what personal information we have about you, correct it, or delete it, and you can opt out of any sale or sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising (we don’t sell it). We won’t treat you differently for making a request. Some information connected to a mortgage application may instead be covered by the federal Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act and the brokerage’s own privacy notice.
To make a request, email [Contact email — to be confirmed] or text (213) 762-6972. We’ll verify your request using the phone number you contacted us from.
Texts and calls
Reply STOP to any text to stop messages. Tell the assistant or specialist on a call that you don’t want further calls, and we’ll stop. See our SMS terms for details.
Security
We use encryption in transit, access controls, and reputable infrastructure providers to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, so please don’t send details we haven’t asked for, like account numbers or passwords, by text.
Children
This service is for adults 18 and older. We don’t knowingly collect information from children.
Changes and contact
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top. Questions? Email [Contact email — to be confirmed].
