Terms of service
Last updated September 17, 2026
These terms cover your use of this site and the Cal Rates text line. By texting us or using the site, you agree to them.
What we do
Cal Rates helps California homeowners find out whether refinancing is worth a look. An automated assistant collects basic details by text and, if you agree, by phone. A licensed mortgage specialist at [Brokerage name — to be confirmed] then reviews your options.
What we don’t do
- We are not a lender, and we don’t make credit decisions or issue loan approvals.
- Nothing on this site or in our texts is a rate quote, a loan offer, or a commitment to lend.
- We don’t guarantee that you’ll receive a better offer, a lower rate, or any savings. Sometimes keeping your current mortgage is the right choice.
- Our automated assistant doesn’t give mortgage advice. Advice comes only from a licensed specialist.
Who can use it
You must be at least 18, and the information you share should be about a property you own or are authorized to discuss. Please give accurate answers. Estimates are fine, and you can skip anything you’d rather not share.
Texts and calls
When you text us, you agree to receive replies from our automated assistant about your inquiry. If you ask for or accept a call, you agree to receive an automated call at that number. Agreeing is never a condition of any purchase. The SMS terms explain frequency, costs, and how to opt out.
Using the site fairly
Don’t misuse the service. For example, don’t submit someone else’s information without permission, send abusive messages, or try to disrupt or reverse-engineer our systems. We may stop responding to numbers that do.
Our content
The Cal Rates name, logo, site design, and content belong to us. You may view and share pages for personal use but may not copy them for commercial use without permission.
Disclaimers and limits
The service is provided “as is.” To the fullest extent allowed by law, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the site or text line, and our total liability is limited to $100. Nothing here limits rights you have under law that can’t be waived, including your rights under any loan agreement you later sign with a lender.
Governing law and changes
These terms are governed by California law. We may update them, and the date at the top will change when we do. Continuing to use the service means you accept the updated terms.
